Don’t cross-post - After Instagram added certain Snapchat capabilities, some people are tempted to re-use the content on both apps.
But most users spend a couple of seconds on each Snap and don’t watch the full thing.
Only use the seconds you need - A 10-second Snap might not seem like a lot.
After all, it’s important to follow the platform’s motto - “The fastest way to share a moment.” This is not the space for curated, aesthetically pleasing timelines.
Keep it real - Don’t be afraid to be ridiculous or show unedited photos.

Snapchat lens - A way to transform selfies using 3D effects, objects, characters, and transformations.
Friends page - Your friend’s stories, located above the Discover page.
Discover page - Other people’s Stories picked by the Snapchat algorithm, available by swiping left.
Chat - A messenger that you can access by swiping right from the camera interface.
Memories - Save and share old Snaps in a private archive inside the main app.
Snapstreak - When two users exchange Snaps for more than three days in a row.
Filter - A design overlay that adds color effects, animations, distortions, etc.
Live Stories - Real-time, crowdsourced Stories from cities around the world.
Custom Stories - A type of Story that you and select friends can view and add Snaps to.
Stories - A collection of Snaps posted within the past 24 hours.
Snap - A picture or a video posted on Snapchat.
